Health & Safety Services
Commercial Clients
We want to become a member of your team, working with you to ensure that everything
your company does complies with the relevant legislation.
This will result in a safer working environment for you, your staff and any visitors
to your premises, and - probably - a happier workforce.
While acknowledging that you must have a total commitment to health and safety
at all levels of your company, and that you have identified directors and managers
to have the overall responsibility for health and safety matters, we can effectively
become your own health and safety department.
We can provide our health and safety services on an "as required" basis, however
we find that the majority of our clients prefer to take out an annual contract
which is written specifically for them and is designed to meet their requirements.
The contract, as well as including all day - to - day advice, can include any
of the following topics, according to your needs:
Risk Assessments
- We can conduct an initial risk assessment and give a detailed report explaining
any problem areas. For example we are able to conduct an assessment for all workstations
and an assessment of any potential hazards such as slips, trips and falls.
- We can produce a fire risk assessment for your premises - this is a legal requirement.
- We can inspect your premises annually and provide a detailed report.
Control Systems
- We can prepare all of the necessary paperwork, such as your company safety policy,
safe-working procedures and any other documents required to operate the procedures.
- We can produce a risk assessment manual, which is required for all hazardous
activities.
- We can advise on all health and safety notices that are required to be held on
your premises.
- We can keep your policies under constant review and ensure that they comply with
any changes to safety legislation or standards.
External liaison
- We will liaise with the Health and Safety Executive, the Environmental Health
Department and any other enforcing authority on your behalf.
Planning Supervisor
- If you are organising any building work which falls within the scope of the Construction
(Design and Management) Regulations 1994 (CDM), you could be classified as a "client".
If so you must appoint a Planning Supervisor to check that your project is designed
and managed safely. This is a role that we can fulfil on your behalf.
Accident Investigation
- We will investigate the circumstances of any accidents and ensure that the formal
reports are submitted to the enforcing authorities.
- Our reports will include advice to change any working practices to ensure that
there is no repetition of the incident.
Ongoing Advice
- We are always available to deal with any health and safety queries.
- We will update you on any changes in legislation or standards through our regular
newsletter
