
Gordon MacDonald - Associate Planning Supervisor MBE, MSc, MIOSH, RSP, MCMI, MIExpE, CGIA
Gordon runs his own safety management consultancy in addition to working as an associate of Strathmore Services in a planning supervisory role. His background is in construction and he is one of a small number who have successfully completed the country's only Masters Degree in Construction Safety Management - his MSc was gained "with distinction". In addition to his safety qualifications he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management and of the Institute of Explosives Engineers.
Gordon has acted as Planning Supervisor in some 200 projects including residential, industrial, office, civil and listed building work as well as projects on contaminated land and involving major demolition. He is an approved tutor for the Construction Industry Training Board Site Safety Management Scheme (SMSTS) and has lectured and run tailor-made training for a wide variety of organisations.
In addition he is currently undertaking research into the role of risk perception in safety management at construction project team level.
