Ian has over 30 years of business experience, primarily in the construction industry. He trained through the indentured apprentice scheme and holds relevant qualifications in safety, teaching and training. In addition to his duties as Managing Director, Ian's main role is the technical side of the business.

In addition to her duties as a Director of the company, Amanda's main role is to manage the administration side of the company including the efficient organisation of the work carried out by Strathmore staff and Associates, planning and administration of Strathmore's extensive training programme, the updating of health and safety policies and the production of method statements, health and safety plans, risk assessments and client reports.

Amanda holds relevant qualifications in Personnel and Administration, and has significant experience in business and the construction industry in particular, being involved in the family construction businesses from an early age.

Amanda is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Darren joined the Birch Group in 1983 and whilst working for a number of companies within this group, has gained considerable experience of all accounting aspects, especially within the construction industry.

Darren has been involved with Strathmore Services Ltd since its incorporation and was appointed Financial Director in January 2002. As such, he is responsible for all Accounting and Financial matters.

John was appointed in October 2003, joining straight from the Army where he spent 22 years in the Royal Engineers, most recently as Warrant Officer. John has now taken on the responsibility for Strathmore's site safety inspections programme as well as the provision of day-to-day construction health and safety advice. John is also a fully qualified and highly competent trainer, specialising in First Aid at Work.

Ann joined Strathmore in 1999 at the time of the company's relocation to Royal Parade, Harrogate. She has considerable experience in reception and secretarial work and always gives a very warm welcome to our clients and contacts. Ann's role is to assist in the general administration of the company. She can generally put clients in contact with advisers who may be out of the office and provide up to date information about training courses and seminars.

Ian joined Strathmore in a full time capacity in November 2007 as a Safety Adviser after a 39 year career as an Aircraft Engineering Technician and Personnel Manager in the Royal Air Force, attaining the rank of Warrant Officer. He holds a Graduateship from the City & Guilds (London Institute), is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management and a member of the Chartered Quality Institute. With a wide range fo technical skills and experience and having completed the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety, Ian has been appointed as a general Safety Adviser, undertaking site and premises inspections in the construction and engineering fields.

Tony joined Strathmore in 2003 as an Associate Safety Adviser, specialising in the preparation and provision of health and safety plans and method statements, as well as assisting in the role of Planning Supervisor.

Tony has a joinery background and has an excellent knowledge of the methods required to build safely.

Charlie joined Strathmore Services in 2003 as an associate safety adviser, having had many years' experience with a major, national health and safety consultancy.

Charlie's knowledge and experience in construction health and safety is second to none. He is responsible as a member of the site safety advisory team for the monthly inspections and monitoring of our clients' construction projects.

Kevin joined Strathmore Services in 2005 as an associate safety adviser. He holds qualifications in health and safety and mechanical engineering. He has a wide range of technical skills and experience within the construction and engineering industries and is assisting in advising on all aspects of health and safety management.

Gordon runs his own safety management consultancy in addition to working as an associate of Strathmore Services in a planning supervisory role. His background is in construction and he is one of a small number who have successfully completed the country's only Masters Degree in Construction Safety Management - his MSc was gained "with distinction". In addition to his safety qualifications he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management and of the Institute of Explosives Engineers.

Gordon has acted as Planning Supervisor in some 200 projects including residential, industrial, office, civil and listed building work as well as projects on contaminated land and involving major demolition. He is an approved tutor for the Construction Industry Training Board Site Safety Management Scheme (SMSTS) and has lectured and run tailor-made training for a wide variety of organisations.

In addition he is currently undertaking research into the role of risk perception in safety management at construction project team level.
